LITERALLY FILM: BOOK FILM FEST

“Definition of a classic: a book everyone is assumed to have read and often thinks they have.”
Alan Bennett

The same might also be said of cinema – a format which owes much to books – but how many classic films have you actually seen?

This season of screenings explores the link between the film and its source material. The programme has been carefully selected by library staff and library users, who after much discussion, have settled on this remarkable and varied season of seven films. We have everything from futuristic sci-fi to classic romance, war drama to costume drama, and even the great Alan Bennett himself.

For lovers of literature, or lovers of cinema, there is hopefully a little something for everyone.

All film screenings take place on Wednesday evenings.
Doors open at 6:30pm / Film starts at 7pm.

Tickets:
£4 – adults / £3 – concessions / £15 – season ticket (7 films! available from the library)
